The Town of Williamston is holding an information session about their Brownfields program and recently awarded grants on March 6 at 6:00 at the TeleCenter, 415 East Boulevard. This session will provide valuable information, opportunities for questions and answers, as well as information on how property owners, realtors, commercial bankers and developers can utilize these grant funds to benefit the Town and their respective businesses. The second meeting of the Brownfields Steering Committee was held December 14, 2011 in the Town Hall Assembly Room. Mid-Atlantic Associates, Inc. presented the initial inventory and ranking of the Town’s potential Brownfields sites. Over 50 properties were identified. The committee then gave their input as to which sites should be targeted initially for assessment. The committee also discussed future aspects of the community outreach program.
The initial meeting of the Brownfields Steering Committee was held October 27, 2011 in the Town Hall Assembly Room. Topics covered during the meeting included an introduction to the Brownfields program, an overview of the recently received EPA grants, and the first steps of the program. Other topics included the initial criteria for ranking the Brownfields sites and desired aspects of the Community Outreach program.
